Ariat Men's Groundbreaker Distressed Brown Round Steel Toe Work Boot

Anyone that works in any type of construction knows that work boots honestly don’t last more than a year anymore. I’ve had high end boots in the 400 dollar range that have lasted a year and everything in between. I oil boots on occasion (who has time to do this every day or even weekly) and treat the boots as “good” as possible when working. So I bought these boots because they had no material to rip out and extra stuff to go wrong on them. And they were cheap. SOMEHOW they lasted me 2 1/2 years. I will say at 2 years the sole did come lose and I glued it back and kept going. So I may have gotten lucky with my first pair but I’m on my second now. Recommend buying a pair of insoles that match your arch if you want to really have added comfort unless you like the ones that come with it. The stock ones are fine I just have an high arch. Quit buying the expensive boots and get these they last longer and are better.

Wears well for work. 2nd pair. Fit works well for wide foot.

well-made boot- do yourself a favor and order off Amazon try before you buy.This company has a no exchange policy meaning that they collect interest off your credit card, shady in that aspect. And that’s the reason for the four stars.

Ariats have been great, comfortable and dependable, long lasting

I have worn these same boots for years. Always comfortable and fairly durable. Until now. I purchased the last pair from Amazon and soon after the return window was past I realized that the steel toe in the right side was detaching from the bottom of the boot. I found out that Ariat would warranty them and went through that rather lengthy process and did receive another pair a couple of weeks ago. This pair also has an issue with the steel toe on the right side.. This one seems to be deformed or possibly smashed causing it to dig into the top of my foot. I don’t know if I should try again or just cut my losses and switch to another brand. Hate that too.

Boot is very comfortable but for a 160 oo dollar boots i expect them to last more then 8 months i wear them five days a week 12 hrs a day.

These boots arrived quickly, were the right size, and were comfortable right out of the box.

Boots rubs back of your heels. Wore for 3 weeks to see if just needed broken in, that didn’t solve the problem

Work boots have held up well. Still very comfortable, only down side i may have to address the toes on my boots from kneeling at work and crawling around. All my boots at the toe get worked in and worn out. But over comfortable and love them still.

I purchased these a month ago and have been wearing them 5 day a week 9 hours a day. Very durable and comfortable

got them 6 months ago and they are still holding well, i do recommend them to anybody who works on a job site.

I love the boots so far they're very comfortable. They seem like they'll last a while, although i have noticed some separation where the leather meets the rubber of the sole. Hopefully it wont get worse.

I work highway construction and boots typically don't last very long. I would regularly replace other brand boot every 3-6 months. With these ground breakers boots I replace them every two. The first pair I purchased lasted longer than two years but the wear on them really started showing after two. But I would highly recommend these. Great boots that are comfortable after breaking them in after a few days.

Within 2 days of wearing the boots the sole began to split apart. Submitted 2 warranty inquiries with no response for over a week. Hoping one day they’ll get back to me and it’s only a 1 off defect because they were comfortable for the 12 hrs I used them.

Very comfortable! I enjoy wearing these boots on a daily basis.

Took a week to ship, understandable. Put them on and they were true to size. A bit uncomfortable but i figured i would have to break them in.

When I first got them the heel plate in the left boot had a pressure point. Wore the boots for 20 hours to try and break them in but that didnt fix the issue with the preasure point. Took to a cobbler to get it fixed for $65. They put a piece of leather in the heel area and eliminated the pressure point, then had to stretch the boot to make it fit better because of the leather they put in.

The second issue I had with them is the fact that the insole isnt comfortable. It touts all day comfort and that just isnt the case for my feet. Had to pay the cobbler to replace the insoles when they did the heel leather.

I've owned 4 pairs of these boots and just recently bought 2 pair. Very comfortable

Really comfortable, everything I need for a hearty workboot.

I've been buying these boots for years, and they have worked great. Last year I bought a pair and they only lasted about 5 months. I thought maybe I just treated them badly. I bought a new pair and within a month the soul started coming off at the toe, the same problem I had with the previous pair. Unfortunately I will no longer be able to buy these boots has I need something dependable.

The groundbreaker boots were a gift for my boyfriend. He said the y are really comfortable. It only t ok about 4 days to break them in. He loves them.

First time owning Ariat steel toe boot. Had to return for 1/2 size smaller.

My husband's favorite pair of boots, been wearing this style for over 20 years.

The size is too small compared to other size 12 boots and I need to return but have yet to be able to do so. Can someone please help

Son needed working boots more comfortable than he had. After reading many reviews and researching we bought a pair and he absolutely loves these boots.

I have a big foot and wide too but never had a problem all my life with having 13EE fit good till now. Ariat makes there heels loose for some reason and that need correct. My front fits good but the heel slips big time and it feels like I'm walking in saddles or they make the heel as wide as the front and thats just wrong. I tried a few sizes and they all have loose heels. I will go back to my Justin boots as they always fit great!

This is the third pair I have purchased and could not be happier. These boots are made for the working man. I'm on my feet for extended hours and the soles hardly show any wear. Definitely recommend. Will buy again.

Never got my delivery, I requested more information never got a phone call by customer service and finally just got a email saying Case Closed. I was hoping at least getting a discount for my next purchase, I still need the boots. As far as customers service bad experience!!!

I've had the boots for a few weeks. Bought them after breaking a toe and needed something with a solid toe cup due to foot not fitting into my Ariat ropers at the time and I refuse to keep foot in the ridiculous shoe the hospital gave me. I'm actually really impressed with these boots. For one, the sole absorbed a lot of shock. I'm able to walk comfortable (with a limp) with 4 fractures. The toe cup is very spacious and comfortable, even with one foot swollen. I really like the plain rugged appearance. There's no ridiculous yellow coloring on the sole or stitching like some of the others I saw in a store. They're plain brown American working man's cowboy boots which are getting harder to find.

Husbands been buying these repeatedly for the last few years. Loves the fit, the wearability and the durability!

I bought my first pair of Ariat Groundbreaker’s about a year ago. I have worn them every day and have put them through the ringer. I am a professional landscape contractor and these boots have been exactly what I needed. I’m notoriously rough on my footware but these have held up tremendously. 11/10 would recommend!

I bought these about a year ago, the soles are strong and have stayed together. The leather that covers the steel toe has worn away because I’m a plumber pipefitter. I have gotten oil, paint, clean and dirty water, mud, and also hazardous material on my boots yet the color still looks great! And with any arias boot the insoles are amazing and I can wear these for 12+ hr shifts with comfort. I have decided instead of buying a new pair I will get the tough toe epoxy and try and get more use out of them. With the toe being repaired and new insoles I’ll be counting down the time until the soles start to rip from the boot.

I work in a wire mill and received these boots in April of 2018 and the sole started separating from the shoe by December. for $140 I would expect these boots to last at least a year. Will never buy these shoe again

Working as a mechanic at a Chevy dealer in the midwest, my work boots see a lot of action. They get drenched in everything from water to coolant to diesel oil and still keep my feet dry. I've had my Groundbreaker steel toes for roughly a year. They have their share of scuffs and nicks, but still have a lot of life in them. I haven't seen any signs of the soles separating like another user posted, either. When they do give up the ghost, I'll likely be buying another set of these.

Good fit, comfortable wear, and well constructed

These almost look too good to be yardwork books, but they are perfect to slip in and out of going to and from the yard while providing all the support and comfort needed.

Second pair of this boot. Love the style and fit. got the EE width. Toes have room to move. Very stylish low profile boot. I still use the first pair for around the house stuff. Durable boot for sure

I work for a aggregate company that runs 6 days a week 10-12 hour days. I usually would go through a pair of $60-$70 work shoes every 3 months. I bought these to give them a try and they work great, very comfortable, and sturdily. I have had them for 10 months now and they do show signs of wear however; I am sure they will last me a year. Like others have stated the seams around the bottom do start to separate but I just put a little gorilla glue and its good as new (twice so far. As for the soles I really like these they are sturdy yet comfortable and don't become smashed and uneven over time. Overall will be buying these again as they have saved me money by replacing 3-4 pairs of generic shoes I would have bought in a years time.

The last two pair of ariat steeltoed boots I bought lasted well over a year. This pair not even a year and the soules are falling off. Definitely not what I expected from this company.
